Classification of aluminum coils
According to the different metal elements contained in aluminum coils, aluminum coils can be roughly divided into 9 categories, that is, they can be divided into 9 series. The following are the introductions:
1000 series aluminum coil
The 1000 series aluminum coils are also called pure aluminum coils. Among all the series, the 1000 series belongs to the series with the most aluminum content. The purity can reach more than 99.00%. Because it does not contain other technical elements, the production process is relatively simple and the price is relatively cheap. It is the most commonly used series in conventional industries at present. Most of the circulating in the market are 1050 and 1060 series. The minimum aluminum content of the 1000 series aluminum coil is determined according to the last two Arabic numerals of this series. For example, the last two Arabic numerals of the 1050 series are 50. According to the international brand naming principle, the aluminum content must reach 99.5% or more to be a qualified product. Mexico's aluminum alloy technical standards also clearly stipulate that the aluminum content of 1050 should reach 99.5%. In the same way, the aluminum content of 1060 series aluminum plates must reach more than 99.6%.
2000 series aluminum coil
Representatives of the 2000 series aluminum coils are 2A16 (LY16) and 2A06 (LY6). The 2000 series aluminum coil is characterized by high hardness, among which the content of copper is the highest, about 3-5%. The 2000 series aluminum coil belongs to aviation aluminum, which is not commonly used in conventional industries. There are fewer producers of 2000 series aluminum coils in Mexico. 3000 series aluminum coil
The representative of the 3000 series aluminum coil is 3003. Mainly 3003 3A21. It can also be called anti-rust aluminum coil. The production process of 3000 series aluminum sheets in Mexico is relatively excellent. The 3000 series aluminum plate is mainly composed of manganese. The content is between 1.0-1.5. It is a series with better anti-rust function. Routinely used in humid environments such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and undercars, the price is higher than the 1000 series. In Mexico, it is a more commonly used alloy series.
4000 series aluminum coil
The representative of 4000 series aluminum coil is 4A01. The 4000 series aluminum coil belongs to the series with higher silicon content. Usually the silicon content is between 4.5-6.0%. 4000 series aluminum coils are construction materials, mechanical parts, forging materials, welding materials; 4000 series aluminum coils have low melting point, good corrosion resistance, heat resistance and wear resistance. There are also many applications of 4000 series aluminum coils in Mexico.
5000 series aluminum coil
The representative of the 5000 series aluminum coil is the 5052.5005.5083.5A05 series. 5000 series aluminum coils belong to the more commonly used alloy aluminum coil series in Mexico. The main element of 5000 series aluminum coils is magnesium, and the magnesium content is between 3-5%. It can also be called aluminum-magnesium alloy. The main features of 5000 series aluminum coils are low density, high tensile strength and high elongation. In the same area, the weight of aluminum-magnesium alloy is lower than other series. Therefore, it is often used in aviation, such as aircraft fuel tanks. 5000 series aluminum coils are also widely used in conventional industries in Mexico. The processing technology is continuous casting and rolling, which belongs to the series of hot-rolled aluminum plates, so it can be used for oxidation deep processing.
6000 series aluminum coil
The representative of the 6000 series aluminum coil is 6061. The 6000 series aluminum coil mainly contains magnesium and silicon, so the advantages of the 4000 series and 5000 series are concentrated. 6061 is a cold-processed aluminum forged product suitable for applications requiring high corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance. Good workability, excellent interface characteristics, easy coating, good processability. Can be used on low pressure weapons and aircraft connectors. 6000 series aluminum coils are not used much in Mexico. Annual production is limited.
7000 series aluminum coil
The representative of the 7000 series aluminum coil is 7075. It mainly contains zinc element. The 7000 series aluminum coil also belongs to the aviation series. It is an aluminum-magnesium-zinc-copper alloy. It is a heat-treatable alloy. It belongs to superhard aluminum alloy and has good wear resistance. The 7075 aluminum coils are all ultrasonically detected, which can ensure that there are no blisters and impurities. The thermal conductivity of the 7075 aluminum coils is high, which can shorten the forming time and improve work efficiency. The main feature of 7075 aluminum coil is its high hardness. 7075 is a high-hardness, high-strength aluminum alloy, commonly used in the manufacture of aircraft structures and futures. It requires high-stress structural parts and mold manufacturing with high strength and strong corrosion resistance. There are not many production and applications of 7000 series aluminum coils in Mexico, and the production process still needs to be improved.
8000 series aluminum coil
The representative of 8000 series aluminum coil is 8011. Most of 8011 is used as aluminum foil, and it can also be used in radiators. In Mexico, 8000 series aluminum coils are not very commonly used.
9000 series aluminum coil
The 9000 series aluminum coils belong to the spare series, and the technology is so advanced. In order to cope with the emergence of aluminum coils containing other alloying elements, the International Aluminum Strip Federation specifically indicated that the 9000 series is a spare series, which has not been developed in all countries including Mexico. . We are waiting for another new variety to fill the gap of the 9000 series.
Aluminum coil production process
1. Aluminum ingot processing
Aluminum ingots must be used to produce aluminum coils. Aluminum ingots can be divided into three types: scrap aluminum for remelting, high-purity scrap aluminum, and aluminum alloy profile ingots according to their composition; according to their shapes and specifications, they can be divided into bar, round, plate, and T-shaped ingots.
2. Casting/hot rolling
The liquid metal enters from the static furnace through the launder into the front box whose liquid level height can be controlled. A runner is set at the bottom of the front box, so that the liquid metal enters the casting nozzle through the regulator, and the metal material is evenly distributed to the specified width. The liquid metal is discharged from the nozzle and touches the refrigerated roll surface of the casting and rolling machine. Then it goes through straightening and unwinding into a coil. During casting and rolling, there is a ladder-like section between the two rolls. In this section, two processes of casting and rolling are carried out instantaneously. Therefore, the length of the casting and rolling zone, casting temperature, cooling and forging speed, crystallization and instant liquid must be strictly controlled. Factors such as the demand for metal and the expansion pressure of liquid metal can make casting and rolling proceed normally. This is the most critical step in the production of aluminum coils.
3. Aluminum coil cold rolling processing
Aluminum coils can be cold rolled and hot rolled. The difference between cold rolling and hot rolling is that cold rolling is rolling at the work hardening temperature, while hot rolling is rolling above the work hardening temperature. Each has advantages and disadvantages. Cold rolling mainly deals with materials that cannot be heat strengthened. Generally, the surface layer requirements are relatively high, and thin materials such as single zero foil and double zero foil can only be rolled by cold rolling; while hot rolling is mainly to provide blanks for cold rolling. Secondly, many materials need to have high corrosion resistance, fatigue relief, strong ductility and other functions that also need to be obtained by hot rolling.
4. Flat packaging
The flat packaging of aluminum coils is essentially cold rolling with a small reduction rate (0.3%-3%). Leveling can improve the shape of the strip and increase the verticality of the strip. By adjusting the reduction rate of the leveling, the physical properties of the hot-rolled strip can be changed within a certain range. It can also achieve a higher reduction rate by leveling the double-click mouse frame or the three-sound card frame, which is convenient for making thin tin plate. After heat treatment, general strips, tinplates, automotive sheets, etc. all need to be leveled.

Packaging requirements for aluminum coils
The packaging of aluminum coils should be based on the specifications and dimensions of the product, and the packaging box and packaging method should be selected. For box packaging, the product cannot be squeezed or moved after being boxed. The making material of packing box can be materials such as wood board, plywood, fibreboard, metal. The packing box should be clean and tidy, and have enough strength to ensure that it will not be deformed or damaged during storage and transportation. The nails in the wooden packing box are arranged step by step, and the nail tips should not be exposed, and should be turned upside down to avoid nail caps and nail tips from hurting the aluminum foil during storage and transportation. The height of the bottom support should meet the requirements of forklift transportation. After the aluminum coil product has passed the inspection and is covered with inspection stamps, it should be wrapped with a layer of strong neutral or weakly acidic material, and the joints should be sealed with tape or labels. A soft pad is placed on the end face to protect the end face of the aluminum coil. Add a desiccant, put a plastic bag on it, plug the parts of the two ends of the plastic bag that exceed the aluminum coil into the tube core, seal it with a suitable size plastic plug and put it into the packing box. After the product is packed, cover it with a layer of moisture-proof paper or plastic cloth. After putting the packing list, you can cover it and seal the box with steel belts. The steel belts should be tied firmly. Of course, every country and every customer has slightly different packaging requirements for aluminum coils. We will fully take care of and meet the packaging requirements of Mexican customers.
Regular Packaging for Aluminum Coils
For aluminum coils with a thickness greater than 0.05mm and in a hard state, they can generally be packaged in well-tac-toe racks, and their packaging should meet the requirements for storage and transportation. The well-shaped frame is made of wood, and the upper and lower wooden squares are composed of two wooden squares. The height of the lower wooden square should meet the requirements of the car. The upper wooden square is made into an arc shape corresponding to the radial direction of the roll. The upper and lower wooden squares are fixed with screws. , the length of the screw should be lower than the arc surface of the upper wooden side to avoid hurting the aluminum coil. The product has passed the inspection and stamped with the inspection seal. First, the aluminum foil roll should be wrapped with a layer of strong neutral or weakly acidic material (generally high release), and put in the packing list, and the lap joints should be glued firmly with tape. A soft pad is placed on the end face to protect the end face of the aluminum box roll. Next, add a desiccant, wrap the entire material roll with a whole piece of plastic cloth, and tape the mouth of the outer layer of the plastic cloth at the lap joint downwards and stick it firmly with tape, and plug the excess parts of the plastic cloth into the die. Finally, wrap the entire aluminum coil and seal both ends with rainproof cardboard of matching size along the circumference, and tape the joints between the end and the circumference and all the gaps. Put the wrapped aluminum foil roll on the well-tac-toe frame and fix it with steel strips along the circumference, and the steel strips should be tied firmly. Stick a box tag on each end of the packaged aluminum foil roll. In addition to the load-bearing and packaging costs of boxes and well-tac-toe frames, the transportation method and the user's transportation and handling capacity should also be considered. Usually, the packaging weight of each aluminum coil in our company is 2.6 tons. Most of the aluminum coils we export to Mexico are packed in this way, the goods are not damaged, and the customers are very satisfied.
Aluminum coil export packaging
Aluminum coil is a product with a large export volume. The export packaging is usually fumigated with a well-tac-toe frame, and the outside is fixed with steel belts. The outside of the aluminum coil is covered with double-layer moisture-proof rain cloth, and the inside is protected from moisture-proof agents. It is sealed and suitable for sea transportation. . Our aluminum coils can be exported to Mexico. As for the packaging method, if the customer has special requirements, as long as the goods can be transported to Mexico in good condition, we can meet them.
Precautions for aluminum coil transportation
1. The aluminum coil should be fixed during the transportation, which is to prevent the aluminum coil from rubbing due to the shaking of the vehicle or ship, and affect the appearance of the aluminum coil;
2. Some protection should be placed in the middle of the aluminum coils, which can reduce their direct contact with each other. This is also done to reduce the friction between the aluminum coils;
3. Try to choose a relatively stable transportation method. No matter how complete the package is, there may be accidents in the face of violent bumps. Therefore, try to choose a relatively stable road for transportation. If you have to take a bumpy road, you must Pay attention to reduce the speed of the vehicle to ensure the safety of the aluminum coil;
4. In the process of distribution, the rainproof and moisture-proof packaging should be done well, and the rain cloth should be covered, otherwise the aluminum coil will be oxidized after accidentally entering the water, resulting in damage to the appearance of the product, and even causing the entire aluminum coil to be discarded.
